Stickings, James Owen “Stix”

It is with deep sadness that family and friends announce the passing of James Owen Stickings “Stix” September 27, 1955 to November 17, 2020 For the last year he struggled with cancer, now he’s at rest. Stix enjoyed life to the fullest, from his youth he enjoyed a variety of  sports especially hockey, golf, bowling, and horseshoes all which he excelled at (or so he would say) He was an die hard Toronto Maple Leaf fan never giving up on that Stanley Cup dream. He grew up in Port Elgin and came to Brantford in the late 70’s to work a summer in tobacco but instead got hired at Hussman Refrigeration where he was employed until their closing. We want to give a BIG THANK YOU to all the care givers from The Stedman Community Outreach Team, The LHIN Home Care as well as Dr David Choi and Terry, Dr Meyers and Cathy from the Juravinski  team for the amazing care and support they gave him during his treatment. A special thank you to the AMAZING team of NURSES from the VON. Everyone helping to support his wish to remain at home. Cremation per his wishes entrusted to Tranquility Burial and Cremation Service. A celebration of his life and tree planting will occur later.
