Slawomir “Slav” Nowolecki

Nowolecki, Sławomir (Slav)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Sławomir Nowolecki. Devoted father to Claudia and Patricia, great uncle to Mya and Ava, uncle to Radek, husband to Lidia, brother to Bozena and predeceased Leopold, son to predeceased Jadwiga & Leopold, and son-in-law to predeceased Jadwiga.

He lived to serve others, always ensuring that everyone surrounding him was safe, comfortable, and well-fed. He worked tirelessly to provide a wonderful life for his family whether it was working several jobs or spending days cooking a feast. He was a popular colleauge, making and maintaining friendships at all of his workplaces.

Slav was a passionate man who never did things lightly. Family was most important to him, but he also had a healthy obsession with good food, great music, and fantastic shoes. In his personal life he was a celebrated chef, a covert rockstar, and was always overflowing with charisma. He deeply appreciated craftsmanship, his most beloved possessions being an ever growing collection of Japanese chef knives, guitars, and well made shoes. He cared for his possessions as meticulously as he did for his family.

His devotion to family, incredible cooking, stoic presence, and animated humour will be dearly missed.

The viewing service will take place on March 16th from 6pm-9pm at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery Chapel (737 Dundas St E, Mississauga). A mass will be held on March 17th at 9:30am at St. Maximillian Kolbe Parish (4260 Cawthra Road, Mississauga), burial will follow at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery.
