Baker, Ann Elizabeth

In Loving Memory of
Ann Elizabeth Baker
March 4, 1937 – August 19, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ann Elizabeth Baker in her 88th year.
Mother to Gillian, Richard and Vanessa, aunt to Alison (David) and Sharon, and great aunt to
Kate. She is predeceased by her husband Ray, parents Douglas and Kate, sisters Frances and
Kath, brother Jack, and niece Debbie.

Ann was born and raised in the Ruislip area of England. She married and then moved to
Canada with her husband and young family in 1967. First settling in Rexdale, it would not be
long before they moved to Bramalea, then Cambridge, Wasaga Beach, Rodney, and then
relocating back to Cambridge again.

She had a real talent for gardening and always had gorgeous flowers, climbing vines, and plants
growing in her yard. Ann was also a very creative person, and she used that talent constantly, undertaking
projects that gave her joy or bought joy to others.

Ann was a loving and kind person, endlessly patient (and she needed to be with us kids), but
also incredibly resilient and strong. She kicked breast cancer in the ass and never once showed
fear or whined or complained. She always thought of others first, was supportive and quite
frankly, the best kind of friend a person could have. She was our greatest role model.

Many thanks to all the staff at St. Luke’s Place for their compassion and care, especially A Wing
Lower Level. It was a relief knowing she was in good hands.

Mom, you leave nothing but fond loving memories! You were a real trooper to all the practical jokes I played on you. God took you home and relieved you of all your pain and suffering . It gives me strength and comfort knowing you are at peace and reunited with Dad. You will always be in my heart and deeply missed!
