Van Sickle, Ryan James
On June 26, 2022 surrounded by his family and his buddy Bandit, Ryan’s battle with Muscular Dystrophy ended. Ryan never gave up his strong will and zest to live his life to the fullest. He enjoyed singing karaoke and was quite the comedian with his quick wit and jokes. He had such a special bond with his parents, James and Sylvia Van Sickle, and his sister Christine (Jeff). He will be fondly remembered and missed by all that knew him.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
Jim & Sylvia: On behalf of the Chadwick family, your neighbours, my father and mother always felt compassion for your family. My Dad told me when Ryan was 4 or 5 that he had MD and I could see how it affected his walking. Whenever I stopped in Brantford and saw Ryan out in his mobility chair I thought of how difficult life was for you all. My Dad passed Oct 20, 2020. Remember we stopped by to say hi about a year or two before? I pray you are all at peace and the suffering is over.
Dear Jim and Sylvia
Its been many years since we have been in contact and now not for happy reasons.
I’m sorry to hear about Ryan I remember what amazing child he was always smiling for his grandmother Emma
Take care of yourselves. Each precious memory will bring smiles.
Our sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved son. Thinking of you and your family at this time. Our prayers are with and may God comfort you at this time.
Love Cec and Chris
Paul, Aaron and Daniel Byrne extend our deepest sympathy to you Jimmy, Sylvia, Christine & Jeff. Ryan was a true soldier who persevered many years but rose above this terrible disease. God Rest His Soul!

Heaven awaits.
Fly free.
