Janet Edith Weideman, after a lengthy illness, passed away   July 29, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario. Janet was born January 7, 1941 in Hamilton, Ontario, daughter of the late Jim and Jane Connor.

Janet is survived by husband Gerald (Jerry), son Keith, daughter Donna Sampson (Kevin),Sister Edith Davern (Bernie), Grandchildren Rebecca (James), Matthew (Micaila) and Alyssa (Charlie).

Janet was a special person always thinking of others before herself. She had a special love for her family. She was very involved with her grandchildren from day one until her health no longer permitted. Always telling them “Love You from Here to the Moon and Back”.

Janet was a stay-at-home Mom until Keith and Donna were in High School.

She then went back to work as a secretary. Later working at McMaster Children’s Hospital photographing new born babies with their mothers. Janet loved children and this job provided a lot of joy and satisfaction.

Janet resided in Mexico part time with her husband when he worked there. We lived in a hotel. The hotel staff and their family were her family there. She always treated them as family.

While in Mexico, Janet did volunteer work with the Blind and arranged to have white canes donated by The Blind Institute of Hamilton.

Janet will be missed but not forgotten by her Family, Nieces, Nephews and Friends. She will always be in our hearts. We have lost a loved and devoted one but all have gained a Guardian Angel to watch over us.
