Otto Pliskat

April 19, 1938 – November 25, 2025

With deep love and profound sadness, our family announces the passing of Otto Pliskat, who left this world peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born in Lithuania on April 19, 1938, Otto built a beautiful life in Toronto and later in Mississauga, where he created a warm and loving home with his devoted wife, Irene, his partner of a lifetime. Together they shared a marriage filled with loyalty, laughter, and unwavering love, a bond he remained deeply proud of until his final day.

Otto was the cherished father of Michael (Kira) and Lisa (Kevin), and the adoring grandfather of Tasha and Tyler, who lit up his heart in ways words can barely describe. He was also the beloved brother of Irma (Leo) and Herta (Frank), and a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Anyone who knew Otto knew his gentle spirit, warm smile, and the way he made everyone feel welcomed and loved. He had a naturally friendly presence, the kind that made you feel at ease the moment he walked into a room. He was hardworking, steady, and endlessly devoted to his family, who were truly the centre of his world.

A man of many talents, Otto found joy in music, especially through playing the accordion. Music was a language through which he connected, celebrated, and expressed his spirit. In his younger years, he was also an impressive water skier and ice skater, hobbies that revealed both his determination and his playful love of life.

Otto loved to laugh and brought humour into everyday moments. He believed deeply in heaven and in God, which brought him comfort and peace throughout his life. He held immense pride in his marriage to Irene, in the accomplishments of his children, and in the precious grandchildren who brought him so much delight.

Of all the things we will remember, the greatest is this: every time you saw Otto, you felt loved. His heart was generous, his love was pure, and his family was his greatest gift and purpose.

He will be missed more than words can express, and remembered with gratitude, love, andhonour by everyone whose life he touched.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
