Lopez Uriarte D.V.M., Juan Arturo

Surrounded by the love of his family and as the sun set, on January 13, 2020, our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Juan Arturo, passed into the light, joining his ancestors. He died as he lived … a warrior. Juan lived his life passionately and with integrity. He was a charismatic man, always ready with a smile and willing to lend a helping hand. He travelled extensively throughout his life and loved sharing those stories. He was an avid fan of soccer, tennis, and old movies. He was a great cook of traditional Mexican food and no meal was complete without a corn tortilla.

Juan Arturo was born on November 2, 1952, in Guadalajara, Mexico. He received his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1978 from the University of Guadalajara and Masters from U.C. Davis.

Juan was the cherished husband and soul mate of Ingrid Sakss. His legacy of love lives on in his children Juan Arturo (Alicia) of La Paz, Mexico and Tobias of Toronto, step children Kristofer (Nicole) and David. Nothing made Juan happier than spending time with his adored grandchildren Alexandra, Ava, Cole, Sawyer, Spencer, and Hunter, encouraging them and delighting them with his stories and wacky sense of humour. Beloved respected brother of Ernesto (Alicia), Ana, Patricia, Francisco, Armando, and Roberto.

A celebration of Juan Arturo’s life will be held in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Te extraño amor de mi vida. Sueño con nosotros.

Thank you Ingrid for sharing, as you have done previous to John’s departure. I just lean he was six months older than me. Probably I heard it before, but I do not pay much attention to edge. We will continue to miss him and will be waiting for the opportunity to share a few stories of our youth. Our warmest regards to you and all in the family.

B. Alicia Tinoco.
