KOU, Jing
Jing KOU was born in the city of Changsha, province of Hunan in China on August 2, 1928. She passed away peacefully at the Credit Valley Hospital at 5:50am on June 26, 2017 with her family by her side. She had a long career as a statistician at a steel mill in Changsha – with a gift for numbers, words and literature. She was well respected by her colleagues and her community for her talents, veracity and selflessness. Having lived through many trials and tribulations that came from periods of war and political unrest in China, she was able to find peace and happiness in Canada when she joined her youngest daughter, Jialin in 1995.
While retiring from a successful professional career was an accomplishment on its own, she claimed her greatest achievement and pride came from proudly raising her children and grandchildren. She was able to celebrate every important milestone in her family across 4 generations in her 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Shui Rui GUO (2004). She is survived by her three daughters – Jiawei (Xiangping), Jiali (Qingjie), Jialin (Vincent); her five grandchildren – Yi (Selena), Jian, Jenny (Sarom), Michelle, Alexander; her five great-grandchildren – Trinity, Savannah, Tiffany, Mia, Draco.
She will be remembered as a woman of extraordinary strength, courage, and love. We will forever hold her in our hearts, and her beauty shines in us all. A special thank-you to all of the wonderful staff at the Credit Valley Hospital who helped her complete her long journey.
She is a great lady, establishes a successful career and family!
Wish her a peaceful rest in Heaven.
