Gordon John Dykstra

March 19, 1950 – January 13, 2026

 

In his 76th year, Gordon John Dykstra, born March 19, 1950, was called home to glory, entering into the eternal presence of his Lord and Saviour. He passed peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Gordon was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Ann, with whom he shared fifty-four years of marriage. He will be lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren:  Jennifer and Geoff Dreise, Isaiah and Hannah, Owen (Rhys), and Sebastian;
Nicole and Robert Van Geest, Rachelle and Benjamin; Lisa Dykstra and Jay Purdon, Kennedy (Andy) and Liam; Kimberly and Kevin Kooiman, Caleb, Claire, Jett, and Bo.
He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses: Jane and Frank Werkema, Evelyn and Piet de Vries, Jackie and Pete DeWaard, and Ingrid Dykstra. Gordon was predeceased by his sister Margaret.
Visitation will take place on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Hope Christian Reformed Church, 64 Buchanan Crescent, Brantford,  ON N3P 2A5. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00
a.m. at Hope Christian Reformed Church. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will be available on the church’s website. Cremation has taken place.

Though we grieve Gord’s passing, we do so with assurance and peace, knowing that he has finished his race and now rests in perfect peace. “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:23)
