You are my sunshine

My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You’ll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don’t take
My sunshine away

The pain of loss is something that none can escape. I pray that you all can find comfort in your sweet memories. I have a few good ones that I have been thinking about myself and they bring a smile to face each time I think back on them. An oh, maybe thirteen year old me catching the keys to the truck as he nods and says “don’t hit anything”, the fun I would have calling him Elmer Fudd because of that silly hunting hat of his, how I know all the lyrics to that Allen Jackson album because he played that CD on repeat the whole way to the cottage! And, the fun of shooting a gun that I never would’ve known if it weren’t for Elmer! Rest easy big man you left an amazing bunch of memories with us all.

Dad, and father, you were my hero growing up and my hero today. My love for you is greater than the world. So many memories I hold that are so special. Our favourite times were spending summers at the cottage, as a kid till only a few years ago.
So many family gatherings that brought us all together.
Thanks for giving me the best brother and sister’s to share with me.
    Always love you,
    Your son Tom
