In loving Memory of Joseph (Joe) DeBattista

August 26, 1941 – May 14, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) DeBattista on May 14, 2025,
at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, at the age of 83.
Born in Rabat, Malta, on August 26, 1941, Joe immigrated to Canada and grew up in Toronto,
where he laid the foundations of a life marked by kindness, integrity, and dedication. He later
settled in Oakville and Kingston with his beloved wife, Lynn, where they built a home full of
love and laughter.Joe was a devoted husband, a proud father to Michelle (Toby), Jason, and Ryan, and a loving

grandfather to Sarah and Christian. He was also a loyal friend to many. Joe dedicated much of
his career to public service, working in the data centre for OHIP, where he was respected for his
reliability and quiet diligence.

He was deeply involved in his community as a past president of the Kingston Lakeshore West
Lions Club, where he found purpose and camaraderie in serving others.
A lifelong fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, Joe rarely missed a game, cheering on his team with
passion. He also had a true talent and love for woodworking, spending many hours building
things or doing home renovations—a hobby that brought him great satisfaction and left a lasting
mark on the places he called home.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Carmelo and Carmela, and his brother Anthony (Tony). He
will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Joe’s quiet presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
