Stewart, Clifford Carl

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clifford Carl Stewart who died suddenly on February 17, 2025, just two weeks before his 86th birthday. He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years Viola and children DJ (Dean) and Rob (Karen), as well as his children from his first marriage, Tim (Tracey), Tammy and Cliff Stewart Jr. Predeceased by sister Hilda (Ted), he also leaves behind his siblings Alvin (Sandy), Ron (d. Char) and Kaye (d. Sam) Wingrove. A loving husband, uncle, father, and grandfather, Clifford was always willing to help and could fix just about anything. Cliff was a professional truck driver most of his life, with his final miles being logged with Avery Construction in Sault Ste Marie.  He missed being on the road each and every day and had an endless number of stories to regale any who would listen. Always friendly and kind, he will surely be missed by anyone that knew him, especially his canine companion Penny. The love of Viola’s life, Clifford will be missed for the rest of her days.  He was her travel companion, chauffeur, repairman and meant the world to her. She feels as though she has lost a major part of her life, heart and soul. A perpetual handyman, Clifford was able to repair, fix and paint just about anything Viola broke over the years and did so happily. She’s confident that he’s in a better place using all the newest tools as he awaits her joining him. He was a great father to all of his children and proud of each of their accomplishments.
