In our hearts always ♥ ♥ ♥
I was fortunate to hear about the demise of Dr Sabapathy and I paid my last respects to him this afternoon. His father was a close relative of my mother’s grand father. I know him since I was born as I also was in Thamaraikerny Batticaloa Sri Lanka.
Saba Periyappa’s passing has come as a big shock to me last week as I was not expecting this at all. But it is said, ‘Man proposes, God disposes!’ So we are here to surrender to the divine, and Fate, and yet learn to live each day fully, love our family and friends, and do our best to make a difference to the world .
And this Saba periyappa has done in his long life. I had always know him to be full of a strong silent presence and gravitas. I’ve visited his home so many times as a young boy.. But only recently did i learn that he had done so much work in the medical field of Leprosy back in Sri Lanka.. a very sensitive subject in a 3rd world thats full of stigma of the ‘untouchable’. He touched their lives and made a big difference .
I am deeply sad to hear of this loss. I knew he was not a religious man but a highly educated medical Doctor, who lived and worked in UK but left it to go back and live in his native land to help the people.
As with all of us, there is always dark and light in us humans. And Saba periyappa may have had his share of both. But when a soul departs our mortal realms, it traverses to the domain of the all seeing Gods.. What they did or did not do in their living years is not for us mortals to judge.
And I pray that Saba periyappa’s good deeds see his spirit ascend to higher realms.
As his body turns to ashes and dissolve on the waters of the Earth , May his soul rest in peace in the realms of the divine.
Blessings. – mani
Dearest Periyamma, Sabesh Anna & Shanti , I am so sorry to hear of your loss . Some people make their mammoth impact through the silence that becomes of them. Saba Periyappa was certainly one of those great people with fewer words than most I recall, when we visited as a young child ; him always in his study room .
Unexpected deaths are harder to get our heads around- this much I know from my own loss in my father figures.
My fondest love, healing & empathy goes out to the three of you during this difficult time.
May Periyappa rest in peace and may your hearts feel lighter in the coming days knowing he is in a place of tranquility and shanty . With all my love Vathani xxx
