D’ATRI, PAUL FRANCIS
At the age of 90 on June 17th, 2012 Paul died with grace and dignity at home, as was his wish. Beloved husband of the late Jean D’Atri. Predeceased by his parents Carmela and Salvatore, sister Teresa and brothers Tony and Leonard. Paul will be forever loved by his children Sandy, Paul, Gregory, Janet, Cindy, Kathy, Mark, Chris, Anthony and their partners. Proud grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Paul’s charm, kindness and quick-witted sense of humour will be greatly missed by all. Friends may call at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Visitation Centre, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, (Dundas & Cawthra) on Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 21, 2012 at St. Domenic Roman Catholic Church, 625 Atwater Ave, Mississauga, at 12 Noon. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers a donation to The Society of St. Vincent De Paul would be appreciated. Paul was born in Boiano, Italy in 1922. At the age of 4 he moved with his mother to Toronto to join his father who had immigrated earlier to acquire a home for their family. While working as a barber several years later, Paul met Jean Grant the woman who became the love of his life. Together they parented nine children with love, dedication, patience and pride. At the age of 55 after working as a barber, contractor and real estate agent/broker Paul began his transition into retirement with Jean by his side. Bypassing the cold Canadian winters they enjoyed warm sunny days in Florida at their condo with occasional trips to Las Vegas. Paul was known for cooking exquisite Italian meals during family get-togethers, enjoying a round of golf, handing out the presents at Christmas and working on The Toronto Star crossword puzzles. He loved having an evening glass of rye and coke while placing $2 bets on the horses and ‘dogs’. Paul was a unique and special man, a gentle loving soul who was appreciative of his family until the last moment of his life.

Dear Janet and family, Your father was a very special man. I remember all the times we met, he was always so warm and welcoming. I always will remember the 11 highchairs he bought for all his grandchildren for the the Christmas Eve feasts. You will have so many happy memories to keep him close.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your dad. He was a great guy with a wonderful spirit and sense of fun. He will be greatly missed by all of you but I know you all have lots and lots of wonderful memories of him.
