In Loving Memory of
Roy Ernest Conway (Sonny)
June 25, 1936 – September 19, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce Roy Ernest Conway of Brantford, Ontario, passed away in his 90th year peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on September 19, surrounded by his loving family.
Ernie was a devoted family man. He was a caring father to his children: Michael, Karen (Craig), Wendy (Robert), Lisa (Ron) and a proud grandfather of: Scott, Matthew (Amanda), Brianne (David), Jocelyn, Marcus (Nancy), Madison, Nicole and Brittany. As well as a Great Grandfather to Tobias. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved
wife, Irene (2001), parents, Aaron and Thelma Conway, and his children: Kelly Anne (1961), Patrick Steven (1958), Michael (2024), as well as his siblings: John, Alf, Don, Joan, Eileen and Alice. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Ernie retired from Dura Automotive as a Maintenance Foreman and was known for being very good at his job and was respected by those who worked alongside him.
A lifelong sports fan, Ernie loved watching hockey and cheering on his Toronto Maple Leafs. He also enjoyed watching golf, and in his younger years, he played both hockey and golf, later coaching hockey to share his love of the game. In more recent years, he found joy in spending time at home with his family and watching old western movies.
Cremation has taken place, a Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Pius X Church, 9 Waverly Street, Brantford at 11am, Monday, September 29th.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to BGH ICU, CCU, palliative care, and Dr. Trevor for his compassionate care and support.
