Mogensen, Jens (Peter)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jens (Peter) Ancher Mogensen at his home in Cambridge on December 26th, 2024 at the age of 70, leaving behind many memories with those he loved. Jens was born in Toronto, Ontario on March 13th, 1954. He was the beloved son of the late Fanny Mogensen (née Nielsen), dear younger brother of Mirja Ramsey (George) of Toronto, the late Suzanne Mogensen, and Ejler Mogensen (Liz) of Victoria, British Columbia, and he was the loving uncle of Christina Ramsey and Oscar MacDonald (Diana). He was father to two daughters, Lisa Mogensen-Harkner (Ryan) and Eva Mogensen (Darin), and they will miss him greatly. He was also the beloved grandfather of Ursula, Amelia, and Gwendolyn.
Jens worked for years with Able Atlantic Taxi. He found joy in music and was a skilled drummer, playing drums for a time with the London, Ontario rock band, Melinite. He was an avid boxing fan, loved animals, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He was also a flea market enthusiast and had a passion for collecting antiques. Known for having a sweet tooth, he often enjoyed cheesecake and ice cream. Jens dreamt big and never hesitated to follow those dreams. He will be fondly remembered for his exceptionally cheerful and friendly demeanor, his fun-loving nature, and his fantastic sense of humour.
Cremation has taken place.

‘Gandpa’, even though we didn’t see each other as much as I wanted to, I feel very lucky that I have good memories with you. I will miss you very much.

Thinking of Peter, my brother-in-law for a time, makes me smile and reminds me of happy times.
Being my sister’s husband, Peter was like the big brother I never had. Generous, lighthearted, and overflowing with love and support, he was there for me when I needed a listening ear and a big hug.
The night before his first child was born, I remember visiting with Peter and Theresa. We laughed and talked about the anticipated joys and challenges of parenthood while drinking tea and eating donuts. Peter was overjoyed and very proud to be a father.
Peter and his sparkle left this world all too soon. I trust that he is now at peace somewhere, but I bet he’ll be checking in on his girls and his grand girls from time to time because Peter loved them so.
With heartfelt condolences,
Kathy Trinca
