To Duong was born in Saigon, Vietnam, on November 27, 1940. He embarked on his final journey peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and children at his home in Mississauga, Ontario, on September 22, 2023.

To Duong life story is one of remarkable resilience and unwavering dedication. In 1980, he arrived in Canada with his wife, seven children, and his mother as boat refugees, carrying nothing but his dreams. Against all odds, he went on to successfully raise seven children and welcomed the joys of grandparenthood alongside his beloved wife. His life was a testament to the power of determination and love. To Duong journey was a tapestry of diverse experiences. From his early days running a successful barbeque shop in Vietnam with his wife to becoming a respected restaurants and supermarket owner in Toronto Chinatown, He navigated life challenges with grace and determination. His generosity knew no bounds, and he extended a helping hand to countless individuals who sought refuge during the tumultuous times of the Vietnam civil war. His loyal and caring nature earned him a wide circle of friends who cherished his companionship and kindness. Beyond his achievements, To Duong had a deep passion for sports, with basketball, and the Toronto Raptors particularly holding a special place in his heart. He cheered for his beloved team with unwavering enthusiasm.

To Duong is survived by his loving wife of nearly six decades, five daughters, two sons, and three cherished grandchildren. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
