MORRIS, Christopher

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, Christopher passed from a very brief, bravely fought fight with cancer.  Beloved son of Aline Morris and Bob & Patricia Morris who predeceased him.  He leaves his wife Cathy and adoring children Ethan, Simon & Caleb (Sophia), Father-in-Law Leonel (Valerie) and Mother-in-Law Ghislaine Rossignol.  He also leaves behind the following siblings, Diane (William), Debbie, Robert, Joseph (Karen), Jennifer (Dennis), Michelle, Maurice (Rhonda), Glen and Jay – Sister-in-law Sandra (Michael) and numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, Uncle Roger, Aunt Murielle and cousins, honorary mentions go to Kylie, Kayla and Izzy and a plethora of boys he welcomed into our home since kindergarten and watched grow.

Chris was born in Orange, California, he was always working with his hands.  Chris would tell a joke to people on the street, in a waiting room or anyone willing to listen and they definitely were “Dad jokes”, save the raunchy ones for his siblings and friends.  He lived in Hawaii for many years and met his wife on the world’s biggest dating site – the internet … he then begrudgingly left the Big Island (telling anyone who would listen to his “sob story”) to come to Canada where he and Cathy raised 3 sons in the freezing north where he coined the term “snotsicles” lol.  Chris worked tirelessly to support his family as a drywaller and was always teaching his sons how to fix something – and with 3 sons there was always something to fix!  Family trips were always to visit family in California or Florida and the boys were the apple of Grandma’s eye, as were all her children and grandchildren.

Chris loved watching and teaching sports to the boys – he was never a soccer, hockey or rugby player but was an avid spectator!  He taught them how to ride a bike, throw a baseball and as OF COURSE, swing a golf club.  Watching his sons grow into gentlemen made him most proud!  Tears would fill his eyes when he heard a story of them helping a stranger or extending kindness to a friend.

We all take solace in knowing that he isn’t suffering anymore and was greeted by his Mom with the biggest smile and flapping arms, as well as other family and friends who have gone before.  The family wishes to thank Dr. Kennedy (& Shelley), Dr. Pinthus and Dr. Montour whose kindness was immeasurable, as well as the nurses on C5 and 7 Palliative who were there for his every need.  We are beyond indebted to family and friends who have come to aid and support at this time of sorrow and grief.  Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date (likely when snotsicles can’t form) … Rest in Peace Chris knowing you were loved and have 3 incredible sons to continue your legacy.
