Salvatore Palmieri
Salvatore Palmieri
October 29, 1957 – July 20, 2023
In loving memory of our beloved Salvatore Palmieri, born on October 29th, 1957, who passed away peacefully on July 20th, 2023, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was not only a devoted father to his children Enrico and Filomena but also a cherished Nonno to his granddaughter Eliana. Salvatore’s love for his family knew no bounds. He was always grateful, kind, and loving, ever ready to lend a helping hand in any way he could.
Salvatore was the beloved son of the late Antonio and Adelina Palmieri, who instilled in him the values of compassion, resilience, and family. Their guidance and love helped shape the man he became.
He is survived by his children Enrico and Filomena, who were his pride and joy. Salvatore also leaves behind his daughter-in-law Sophie, who he embraced as part of his own family, and his granddaughter Eliana, who brought him immense joy and happiness.
In addition to his immediate family, Salvatore had a close bond with his siblings. He is now reunited with his eldest brother Clemente, but he will forever be remembered by his surviving brothers Aldo, Guido, Bruno, and Enrico, and his sister Rita. They shared a special connection that only siblings can understand, and their memories together will be cherished by all who knew them. Salvatore was also a beloved Zio to many, and a dear friend to countless individuals.
Salvatore’s indomitable spirit and determination were evident in his fight against cancer, having triumphed over it two years ago. He was a true fighter who never gave up, inspiring everyone around him. With his infectious humour and radiant smile, he brightened every room he entered and spread joy wherever he went. Salvatore’s dedication to his craft as a butcher was unwavering throughout his life. He also spent many years in Nunavut, leaving lasting impressions on the community he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the warmth he exuded. Salvatore’s impact on the lives of those around him and his legacy will continue to live in the hearts of his loved ones. May his soul rest in peace as he continues to watch over us from above.

I had the pleasure of meeting Sam in 2017, he was a childhood friend of my late husband Tony D’Alessio. When he heard that Tony had become ill he made a point of reconnecting with him. A year later Tony was diagnosed with ALS and Sam was a constant visitor in our home. We all came to enjoy his visits and looked forward to each and every one. Hearing stories about their childhood was heartwarming. He made us laugh and brightened some of our darkest days. He was a very kind and compassionate man. He was truly grateful for his family and felt blessed for the life he had.
Our deepest and most sincere condolences. Rest in eternal peace Sam.
The D’Alessio Family
Fil, Rico, Sophie and Eliana. My heart is so very sad with the passing of such an amazing man, father, grandfather and friend. May you find peace and comfort in those who surround you during this difficult time. I am forever grateful that I had the pleasure and the honour to be a part of Sam’ life and happy to have so many wonderful memories to look back on. We had a special bond that I will always treasure. He was a man filled with love and compassion and was so very proud of his beautiful family whom he spoke about often. As the saying goes, “only the good die young”, and Sam was one of the best. He leaves a void in my life that no one will ever fill. I will miss our regular 3+ hour phone chats. He loved to talk. He was my happy when I was sad, and always knew how to make a bad day better. He was an inspiration to many. Fly high with the angels Sam, I’m sure you have them laughing already. I will miss you immensely, and it’s hard to imagine life without you, but one day we will meet again Salvatore. Love LaJ xoxo

Sam was a ray of sunshine, full of love and laughter and a kind, compassionate friend. His positive outlook, courage and strength was always inspiring. And even more so through his recent battle. I will forever cherish the many happy memories, and am grateful for the chance to have been his friend over the past 12 years. My deepest and sincerest condolences to his family, of whom he talked about so often and with much pride and joy. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.
Love,
Jenn xoxo
