Malcolmson, Donald Bruce
Donald Bruce Malcolmson Sr.
August 3, 1930 – November 30, 2020
It is with great sadness that the Malcolmson family announce the passing of Donald Bruce Malcolmson Sr. aged 90 on November 30,2020 , due to Covid.
Beloved husband of Barbara Malcolmson for 66 years. Loving father of Sue, Sandy, Doug, Fred, Don and Margie. Donald will be missed by family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Having one of the last horse farms in Oakville, Malc loved raising, training and racing his standardbred horses for over 50 years. His other earlier interests were skiing, golfing, waterskiing and travelling. The siblings remember fond times skiing at Osler Bluff Ski club, where they became members back in 1955! The family also remember the great times we had with Uncle Jim and Aunt Annie. Don met the Couse family back in the 50’s where they travelled and skied and were both interested in horses. Dad was an amazing father, who always spent as much time as possible with his kids, and always did an exciting activity every weekend. We love you and miss you Dad!
A private cremation and family gathering will take place. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in his memory.
Our sincere condolences. We are thankful for the golf together with Don
at the Friday Nighters.
Thank you so much, he was a fun dad and taught us all to golf, ski, he did skydiving with us and river rafting.
Sad news …. My mother Barbara Malcolmson passed away Sat April 20/24. She was in a nursing home and on the Thursday was sent to the hospital with pulmonary aspiration..She had dementia,,.nothing could be done, she went into a coma and was put in hospice care back at her nursing home. She had all her children gatthered together at the end and passed peacfully.
Our prayers are with you all. I have wonderful memories of our high school days, travelling with Don to watch the horses race, then practicing with our band at your home. Your parents were the only ones who could stand the noise (and there were no neighbours who could hear us!). I think your dad might have actually enjoyed our music (but that might be a stretch). We’ll be praying for peace and comfort for all of you today.
Thank you Tim and Carolyn, sad times need hugs but we are getting allot of verbal/emotional support.
I will miss you too Malc. You had such a positive effect on my life which I have tried to pay forward to my kids and I will forever be grateful. Love you.
Thank you Michelle, he was good to everyone. So many people telling stories of how he affected their lives. You took care of him towards the end, and I am so grateful for that.
I’d like to pass on our condolences from all the Aussie Couse’s to all the Malc’s. Growing up around Malc, and the weekends we all shared together has enriched our lives with many many great memories and tales to tell.
Thank You for the Good Times!!

It was an honour to meet your dad and spend time with him. I will remember how sweet he was to me and how gracious he was to have me in his home. I enjoyed many meals with him. I will never forget him. God rest his soul….. he is with his creator now and in peace ♥️
Warmed hugs to all the family
