We sadly announce the passing of John Robert “Sandy” Bartels on April 18, 2019 at home after a brief battle with cancer. Born April 13, 1950, in his 69th year, son of late Vera (Handel) and Oscar Bartels, survived by brother Christopher.
Sandy will be missed by daughter Erika (Michael Williams), partner and friend Mary Pollock, son William (Lennie) Theurer, grandchildren Marcus, Cheyenne, Donovan, Ben and Maclaren and many cats for whom he cared over the years, notably Prince Albert and Alpha.
He will forever be remembered for his love of the water, music, animals and all things Mexican.
Special thanks to Amanda MacLennan, RN and Dr. Judy Maynard of Brameast Family Health for their outstanding care and compassion.
A Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held May 12, 2019 from 2-4 pm at St. John’s Dixie, 737 Dundas St E, Mississauga, ON.
