Dussault, Eddy Jacques
Eddy Jacques Dussault (1968 – 2024)
So it’s true, when all is said and done, grief is the price we pay for love.
It is with profound sadness that after a hard-fought battle with cancer, we announce Ed’s passing on April 11, 2024. True to himself and his wishes, Ed died at home surrounded by his loved ones. His father, Roland, passed away recently on March 18, 2024, and it comforted Ed in his last days knowing he would see his “Pap” again. They were both avid members of the Dunsdon Legion where Ed played snooker, crib, or just went to have a beer with his friends.
Ed was also an environmentalist who had the highest regard for nature and all of its creatures. As a life-long fisherman, he felt most at peace when casting in the solitude of the early hours on the banks of the Grand River. Ed was known for his artistic ability, his love and extensive knowledge of music, and his quick wit. He insisted on putting others first, and believed we all should strive to make this world a better place.
Ed worked at PrintMate Graphics as a printer for almost 30 years where his co-workers, many of whom he held as family, appreciated his commitment, attention to detail, and good humour. Those who were closest to Ed could tell you he was kind-hearted, trustworthy and had a drive to make those around him happy. He also had a stubborn side, no doubt inherited from his father, that made him fiercely independent which made the illness he fought all the more difficult for him — but it also kept him going for much longer than any doctor had predicted, and we are all thankful for that.
Cremation has been entrusted to Tranquility Burial & Cremation where on-line condolences can be made. A Celebration of Life for Ed and Roland will be held at the Dunsdon Legion, 9 Tollgate Road, on Saturday April 20, 2024, from 1 – 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice (sjlc.ca), or the Dunsdon Legion would be greatly appreciated.
