In Loving Memory of William “Scott” Lewis
November 24, 1959 – October 11, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of William “Scott” Lewis on October 11, 2026, at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, following a
brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Scott was the beloved husband of 32 years to Christine Crone-Lewis, and a proud father to Jacob, Nathan (Maria), Katie, and Jon. Deeply missed by his four-
legged best friend, Iris. He was a cherished brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend whose presence, humour, stories, and unmistakable love for life will be
deeply missed.
Known to many as “Lefty 72,” Scott was a one-of-a-kind person who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He had a story for every occasion and could keep people entertained for hours. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or had just met him, Scott had a way of making a connection that you wouldn’t soon
forget.
Music was one of Scott’s greatest passions. He loved classic rock, especially Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, and Roger Waters, and he certainly believed music
was meant to be played loud. His extensive collection of CDs and vinyl records was a reflection of his love for music, and some of his happiest memories were
made attending concerts with Chris and friends, sharing the music and making memories along the way.
Above all, Scott loved his family, and it was often the little everyday moments that meant the most. He treasured camping trips in the RV with his family, creating
memories that would last a lifetime. He loved taking Iris along for car rides to pick up Jake from work, and he always enjoyed talking with Jon about the latest
movies coming out. Katie would forever be Daddy’s little girl, able to get away with just about anything with a simple bat of her eyelashes. And with Nathan,
Scott loved nothing more than sharing a drink, playing cornhole or darts, and enjoying each other’s company.
These moments, big and small, were what made Scott who he was. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a friend who could turn an ordinary day
into a memorable one. His love of music, gift for storytelling, easygoing nature, and the countless memories he created with those around him will live on in the
hearts of everyone who knew and loved him. Though his chair may be empty and his voice may be quiet, his favourite songs will continue to play, his stories will continue to be told, and his memory will forever be a part of the people who loved him.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Paul and Kathy Anger, Dr. Ayoob, and the entire care team at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital for their
kindness, compassion, and care shown to Scott and his family during this difficult time.
Cremation has already taken place, and in keeping with Scott’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or celebration of life. For those wishing to honour Scott’s
memory, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Lowbanks Firefighters Association. The family sincerely appreciates the love and support shown during
this difficult time.
Donations can be made via e-transfer to AssociationHaldimand7@hotmail.com or cheque mailed to: Lowbanks Firefighters Association Attention: Nathan Lewis
