Gordon “Buster” Welham
December 11, 1939 – May 26, 2026
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gordon Welham on May 26, 2026, at Greater Niagara General Hospital. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Gord is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Wendy. Truly his soulmate. Gord will be greatly missed by his sons; Paul (Line), and Tony (Deborah), and his daughter; Tracey (Henry). Gord was a loving Granddad to Christina, Ryan (Meghan), Lindsay (Chris), Rachel, Lucas, and Nicholas, and to his great-grandchildren, Liam, Charlotte, and Felix. Gord will be missed by their beloved dog, Rosie.
Gord was born December 11, 1939, in Ipswich, England. He is predeceased by his parents and 10 siblings. Gordon served in the British Territorial Army, following in the footsteps of his father and 3 older brothers who served together.
Gord spent his younger years in England, where he drove buses and tractor trailers. In March 1975, Gord and his loving wife Wendy, immigrated to Canada with their young family. He worked for the City of Burlington driving buses, and then for over 20 years driving tanker trucks for Petro Canada.
Gord, with Wendy by his side, took his love of music and socializing, and created a successful DJ business in England, he then continued it on once in Canada. Something dear to Gord’s heart was the fact that in December 2025, he DJ’d at his son Paul and Line’s wedding. Ones to never stay still, in retirement Gord and Wendy owned and operated a double decker company.
Throughout Gord’s lifetime he made many long-lasting friendships with people here in Canada and in England. Gord loved being out and about with Wendy and Rosie, DJing, karaoke nights, watching the ships on the canal, or just driving about…if you knew him well, you know they were rarely home. Gord lived a very full happy life full of family and friends.
In keeping with Gord’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tranquility Burial & Cremation Services (Niagara) Inc. Condolences can be shared at tranquilitycremation.com A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 2 to 5 pm at 40 Towering Heights Boulevard, Shipman Il condo, in the top floor community center. His family would love to see familiar faces, hear stories that highlight Gord’s quirky British humor, and share happy memories of Gord.
In lieu of flowers donations to Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stoke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
“So lucky in my life, you make it all worthwhile”
