Paul and Pat Madden were such a wonderful couple who brought forth a beautiful family and Joanne was so delightful. We would like to offer our condolences to both families.

I am sorry you heard this second-hand, but it was all a shock. We must hook up for a beer when the weather improves.

My deepest prayers are with Andrew and indeed the entire Madden clan. Jo-anne and my sister Kathy shared many firsts together, in fact, I am sure they shared most firsts together, as best friends often do. And while they had not seen each other in recent years, to this day, when anyone has asked Kathy who her best friend is, she has always answered the same – Jo-anne Madden.

Jo-anne and Kathy gave Mary-Pat, Ellen and me such a hard time when we were young and some years ago at their house, over far too many drinks, Jo-anne, Mary-Pat, John, Kathy and I laughed til we cried at the memories! Needless to say, Kathy and I stayed the night!

There were also the many weekends at the cottage with the Maloney’s and the Madden’s filled with swimming, lots of laughs and tons of milk being consumed…..Jo-anne and Kathy were nowhere to be found!

Again, Andrew, Paul, Mary-Pat, Ellen and John, no words can appropriately express your loss.

I have only deep sadness for everyone who, like me, was lucky enough to know Jo-anne and also for my sister Kathy, who has lost her best friend.

Jo-anne will truly be missed and has left us all way too soon.

    Love Margaret

Margaret, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I can recall when I was in Mr. Salazar’s grade 6 class our mother wanted Jo-Anne and Kathy to take me to the show with them to see ‘To Sir With Love’. After some convincing from our mother they agreed to let me go with them but on the condition it be the only time. To this day it is one of my favourite movies.

One of Jo-Anne’s and Kathy’s many ‘adventures’ and one of the stories that Jo-Anne would tell us about was at your cottage. Jo-Anne and Kathy took your father’s car out for a little joy ride while he was sleeping and they ended up in a corn field leaving parts of the car behind.

We miss her very much but have many happy memories of Jo-Anne to hold in our hearts.

Love Mary-Pat, Ellen, John, Paul and Andrew

My sincere condolences to all of you. I am so saddened to hear of Jo-Anne’s passing. Jo-Anne and I go way back and I have so many happy and great memories of our friendship.

I’d meet her at Food City when she was finished work and I had my hours in at Glenvalley Bowl and we’d figure out how much our pay cheques were going to be and how we were going to spend them. We had so many laughs together.

Remembering all of you in my heart, Love to All Mary Voisin
