STEWART, Taira

On October 29, 2013, our Princess Warrior was called home to our Heavenly Father.

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow

But remember me in every tomorrow.

Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles.

I’ve only gone to rest a little while.

Although my leaving causes pain and grief,

My going has given me relief.

So dry your eyes and remember me,

Not as I am now, but as I used to be.

Because, I will remember you all

And look on with a smile.

Understand, in your hearts,

I’ve only gone to rest a little while

As long as I have the love of each of you,

I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.

It is with great sadness that the family announces, after a courageous battle with cancer, that our princess warrior Taira Stewart peacefully left us to join her mother in heaven. Taira was born in Finland March 16, 1978.

She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband Chris Hof, her beloved children Katriina and Eric Stewart and her Father Pentti and loving step mother Marla Makela. She is survived by her brothers Jyri (Christina) and Jani, her sisters Sari (Roy) and Heidi, many nieces and nephews and extended family members in Finland. Her best friends Leanne Luck and Jill Gillam will dearly miss Taira. She will also be missed by her mentor Lynden Cowan, all her Gen B nursing colleagues and by her many friends, old and new, that supported her on this journey through Time for Taira.

A special thank you to Dr. Gupta and staff at Princess Margaret Hospital and to the Bethell Hospice House for the extensive and loving Care Taira received.

A service to celebrate Taira’s Life will be held on Monday November 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,10064 Bramalea Road, Brampton (next to the Temple).

In lieu of flowers, Taira had requested donations be made to the Time for Taira Fund. TD Canada Trust Account name:
