Secord, Mary Jean (Patterson)

Dec. 1, 1936 – Nov. 29, 2019 SECORD ( Patterson ) Mary Jean – Nick named ‘Mazy’ by her parents she peacefully passed with all of her children at her side at the Brantford General Hospital on November 29, 2019. Mary was in her 82nd year. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and caring friends. She was Auntie to many over the years her love was wide and touched many. She had an amazing life from her early years at the Watt’s Farm in Paris Ontario, meeting our dad at her first job, raising of her many children over the decades, working in tobacco, providing palliative care and taking a few good trips to Florida, Calgary and Kenora to name a few. Mary will be dearly missed by her children Jim, Terry, Jay of Brantford, Randy and husband Scott Duffus of Port Dover, daughter Cheryl Allen of Port Dover and her loving grandsons Scott and Thomas Allen, her Niece, Helen Jeavons of Norfolk and her children Todd, Joshua, Aaron and Hillary. Mary is pre-deceased by her parents Ivy and James Patterson of Brantford, her sister Colleen Grant and her husband Harry Daniel Secord of 49 years. At Mary’s request there is no visitation, cremation has taken place, a private interment with family will be at a later date. A celebration of life will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 12 Catherine Avenue, Brantford, Ontario on January 31st, 2020 from 2 -4 p.m. Donations to be directed to M. S. Society and Hankinson House Hospice in her memory.
