In case you don’t remember me, I’m Carol Smitherman, Fran and Stan’s daughter (Married name Johnson). We were so sorry to hear of Shirley’s death and wanted to send our condolences to all her family. We often would see Shirley in Alliston and had some good talks with her. We will be thinking of you in your time of grief.

I’m so sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. My condolences to the Russell family.

Shirley and Bill made me feel like part of the family. I remember Christmas Eve’s at the apartment (with Shirley’s meatballs!) and summer days at the trailer. Thank you, Shirley, for many happy memories. I hope you’re reunited with Bill, and at peace now.

    Gramma,
It’s been 3 days since you passed away, and it just keeps getting harder to not have you with us. On Tuesday afternoon I drove to the hospital rather then where I was going, I know you are in a better place and I keep telling myself that. But it’s not any easier. I am so glad that this summer you were able to join the family in Wasaga Beach and then a few weeks later you came with us to Rice Lake. You loved being able to sit by the lake and just look around, not that you were nosey! I hope you are dancing with Grampa. And are now at peace and not in any pain. You fought so hard to stay with us, I will spend the rest of my life making you proud. Love you forever and always. Beverley. RIP gramma (nana)
