It is with heavy hearts that the family announces his passing at the age of 85. Ron will be missed by his wife of 64 years, Judith and their two sons, Roy and Donnie
and his daughter-in-law Valerie O’Brien. Ron has 4 sisters that will miss him dearly: Marilyn Hinks (Ron Hinks pre-deceased) Linda Kirkwood (Ron), Vi-Ann Gross (John), Debby Belding (Bob Braybrook pre-deceased), along with many nieces and nephews.
Ron loved that his two sons enjoyed sports as much as he did. He never missed a game and was their greatest cheerleader all through their years of baseball and basketball. Ron spent the entirety of his career with Dofasco.
In his retirement, he happily supported his son’s painting business. He proudly wore Donnie B’s Painting t-shirts and was Donnie B’s willing delivery guy for many years.
As per his wishes, cremation will take place. We will host a celebration of life on July 25, 4-7 at the Belding home in Dundas. For address, call or text 905-464-5856.

So sorry to hear about Ron. I too have many memories having worked with him for many years in Personnel. Oh how he loved the Blue Jays – as I do! My condolences to Judy, the boys and all you girls and families. Go Jays. 🧢

Words can’t describe the loss of a parent or spouse. I hope the family can remember all the great times they had with Ron.
I have great memories of spending time with Ron myself. Not just as Donnie’s dad, but as someone I could talk to as if he and I were friends. I also have great memories of spending time with Ron at the horse races and with him taking Donnie and I to baseball tournaments, along with many conversations at their house over the years.
Ron always went out of his way to make sure guests felt welcome at their house.
RB as we called him, was a great man and we should honour him that way.
