Roger (Ross) Moffat

Roger (Ross) Moffat

January 29, 1931 – June 24, 2023

Ross Moffat passed away peacefully at home on Saturday June 24, 2023.  A much loved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Pre deceased by his wife Doreen, sisters June, Georgene and Dorothy and many friends.

Ross leaves behind his daughter Penny, son in law Keith Dickson, his son Joe (Caryl) Moffat, his grandchildren Scott (Amber) Dickson, Heather (Jason) Dickson Clarke, his two great grandsons, Jaxon and Joshua and sister-in-law Eva McKinnon.

Ross was an active member in many communities such as the Shriners, Masons and Probus Club. He took great pride in helping others and stayed very up to date with current technologies. Ross worked for 20 years of his career on the Toronto police force, followed by head security roles in other organizations including Hudsons Bay, Ontario Jockey Club, Rothmans, CN Tower and Nortel. He was also a member of the Canadian Chiefs of Police.  After retirement, he helped to care for his cherished grandchildren. He spent many years caring for his beloved wife Doreen and has missed her dearly since her passing in 2009.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

At Ross’s request, a private family interment will be held at a later date so that he may be buried with Doreen. We would be thrilled to read your memories and stories of Ross. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association to honour his life. We wish to remind you what Ross has always wanted is not to sit in sadness but to celebrate his life and to cherish the happy times.
