Rodney Decker

In Loving Memory of Rodney Charles Decker

Decker, Rodney Charles passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, May 9th 2026 in his 80th year.  Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline.  Loving father of Krista (Todd) Caldwell, and Bruce (Katharine) Decker.  Devoted grandpa to Nathan (Hailey) and Dakota (Brynlea), and Ronan and Alistair. He is survived by his brother Mark (Betty) Decker. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces Sarah McComb, Sheena (Chris) Daw and nephews Joel (Erin) Decker and Drew Decker.  Rod spent his early years working in the grocery industry (A&P, Calbecks).  He ran the Lumsden Brothers warehouse before his retirement.  But Rod didn’t really retire.   He worked for The Brantford Food Bank, D&J and then The Bun Shoppe where he made many friends.  Rod loved to fish, play Bridge, work his garden, fix anything and spend time with his family playing games and eating good food.  Rod was always there to lend a hand whenever needed.  He enjoyed a good bottle of wine and intellectual conversation.  His vast knowledge of History and Music made him a tough opponent in Trivial Pursuit.

Friends will be received at a celebration of life on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 11- 3pm at 119 Fulton Street. Cremation has taken place.

Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
