Robert James Welsh of Brantford passed away peacefully at Brantford General Hospital on September 25, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born in Brantford on January 4, 1938, to James and Thelma Welsh, Robert spent his life rooted in the community he called home.
He worked for many years as a tool and die maker before retiring, and carried the same steady, dependable nature into every part of his life.
Robert will be remembered most for the warmth he brought to those around him. He was kind, generous, and funny, the kind of man whose presence made others feel at ease. He enjoyed golfing, working on cars, and watching sports, but his greatest joy was always his family. He loved them deeply and took great pride in being surrounded by those he cared for.
He is loving remembered by his wife, Carol Welsh, his children Bob (Judy) Welsh and Lori (Mike) Grime and his grandchildren Gregory (Brittany) Welsh, Haley Welsh (Cody), Stephanie Minns (Dustin), and Alexis Grime (Chrisna). He was blessed with 3 great grandchildren, Maisie Minns and Aurora and Weston Welsh. His family was the centre of his world, and his memory will live on in the many lives he touched with his kindness, humor and love.
Robert’s life was a steady and meaningful one, marked by devotion to family and simple pleasures enjoyed well. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
