Richard “Rick” Boyko
August 1960 – September 2026
Richard “Rick” Boyko passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17th , 2026, at the young age of 66, at Georgetown Hospital with the love of his life at his side.
Rick fought a hard and aggressive battle with Esophageal cancer for the past 8 months. Throughout his journey, he fought hard and never complained. Even through the treatments and pain, he persevered quietly and still enjoyed life and worked as much as possible.
Rick was deeply loved by his soulmate and wife of 43 years, Irene. Together they built a beautiful life with hard work and their passion of travel. They spent many vacations enjoying each other and visiting many ports on their vast cruises. Irene will forever cherish their memories.
Rick was a caring and gentle soul loved by all that knew him well. He was a real car guy and could be found most weekends watching Barrett Jackson Auction and many different rebuilding car shows. He was the big go to in the office for all mechanical car questions and helped many people solve their car issues.
A special thanks goes out to his work family at Yorkwest Plumbing/Wolseley Canada for all their compassionate love and support.
He made many long term friendships during his career and considered them his extended family.
A Celebration of Life for Rick will be held on Saturday, November7th, 2026 at the Gellert Community Centre in Georgetown at 10241 Eighth Line from 1:00 – 3:00pm.
