ARUNA KUMARI PALIPANE
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aruna Kumari Palipane, age 78, on January 25 2026.
Aruna Kumari Palipane was born on October 31st 1947 in Sri Lanka and lived a life marked by civic service, kindness, gratitude, generosity, humility, forgiveness, deep spirituality and a zest for life. She loved her job as a public school teacher and subsequently volunteered at local schools after her retirement. She was many things over the course of her Life: from a long-distance runner, a teacher, a scholar of Shakespeare, a mother, and a lifelong student of Dance. She was deeply grateful for all the people she met and who helped her in life. She will be most remembered for her tenacity and loyalty to those she loved. She is survived by her two sons: Chin and Budd.
