Nancy Elizabeth Imrie Iannizzi
1944-2026
Nancy Elizabeth Imrie Iannizzi passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026, at the age of 81, with her loving husband by her side.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robert, her daughter Melanie, her cherished grandson Adam, her sisters, Barbara (Tom) and Lois (John); and her loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Nancy and Ensley, her sister Shirley and her brothers, Stanley and David.
Born on November 8, 1944, in Rothesay, New Brunswick, Nancy moved to Ontario in 1970 to pursue her career in education. Throughout her years as an educator, she served as an elementary teacher, vice principal, and curriculum consultant, supporting and inspiring teachers in their work. She retired from teaching in 1998, leaving behind a lasting impression in the field of education and in the lives of those she taught and worked alongside.
Nancy’s commitment to making a difference extended far beyond the classroom. She gave generously of her time and talents to numerous community organizations, serving on the boards of May Court, the University Women’s Club, the YWCA, Design for a New Tomorrow, Women’s Place, and RWTO. Her compassion, selflessness, and passion for improving the lives of others were evident in everything she did. Through her volunteer work and countless acts of kindness, Nancy touched the lives of many.
Nancy embraced life with enthusiasm and a wonderful sense of adventure. Whether setting off on a bicycle adventure, tending to her beloved garden, or spending time in her cherished craft room creating beautiful handmade cards for friends and family, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her thoughtfully crafted cards were more than just greetings; they were little expressions of the love and thoughtfulness she shared so freely with others.
Nancy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, service, and a deep love of life. She will be remembered for her free spirit, adventurous nature, creative talents, and unwavering commitment to others. Most of all, she will be missed for the warmth, friendship, and genuine care she brought to the many lives she touched.
