Michael James Gallagher (Mickey), in his 85 year, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at the John Noble Home.
Mickey was born Jan. 7, 1941 to Charles and Philomena Gallagher (Rousselle) on Spring St. Brantford Ont. Predeceased by his siblings Delores Dargy, Phyllis Watson and Patrick (Paddy) Gallagher.
He married Carol Ann Gallagher (Rose) in 1960 at St Basils Church and were together for 60 years. Leaving behind are his sons Dan Gallagher (Kathy), Patrick Gallagher and daughter Mary Gallagher. Grandchildren Theresa Benson (Brett) , Patrick Wilkinson (Ellen), Jackie and Robert Gallagher in Alberta, Dean Gallagher (Lisa) and Alexis. Great grandchildren Henry and Hazel Benson.
Dad attended St Basils School then graduated from Barber College in Toronto. After graduating Dad worked cutting hair for Ray Hussies and moved out onto his own a few years later opening his own Barber Shop. Dad had cut hair on Sydenham for 50 plus year. Customers could always come in for updates on sports or politics and a good joke!
Dad enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and/or hunting whenever and wherever he could, if he wasn’t on the Grand River he would be found in the Ottawa Valley in which he took many good friends along with him. He also enjoyed cooking and making a mess in the kitchen for Mom to clean up.
Mick was a life member to the Brant Navy Club in Brantford and played in the dart league for several years.
Cremations has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at the Brant Navy Club 54 Wadsworth St. Brantford on Sept. 27/26 from 1:00pm to 4:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Jack and I extend our deepest condolences to Mickey’s family. Mickey will be missed at our navy club where he was such an outgoing presence for years, as a life member, always a friendly hello, often a joke.

I have so many great memories with him from our son’s first haircut,having drinks and listening to old country music from his album collection to week long fishing trips.Mickey was the most generous guy ,could tell a joke and a story usually with a little bull mixed in.He was a proud man often talked about his family and grandkids.
I am proud to call him a dear friend and we will all miss him dearly.

Mickey and my husband Robert were part of a close group of guys from Holmedale that all grew up together, and partied at Mrs. A’s. On a trip back to Brantford from AZ he gave our son his first haircut as I know that he did many of Brantford’s children. He started sending tapes to Robert of songs he would listen to from his vast LP library. My son and I still have those tapes and notes. Special memories. RIP Mickey!!
