Michael Gerald O’Brien
1944-2016
Peacefully in the seventy-second year surrounded by family on Sunday, March 13, 2016, Michael was called home.
Although he will never be forgotten, he will be deeply missed. Cherished husband of Beverley (Clanhane) O’Brien. Beloved father of Kevin (Brenda), Darren (Donna), and Shannon (Mark), along with devoted grandfather to Laura and Matthew. Son of the late Evelyn (Simpson) and Murthey O’Brien. Mourned by nieces and nephews, friends and the entire O’Brien and Clanhane families. His selfless and generous nature provided support for countless individuals. A true gentleman that touched the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to be graced with his presence.
Funeral Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 11 Peter Street South, Mississauga, Ontario L5H 2G1 on Saturday, March 19th at 12:00 p.m. Reception in church hall to follow. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the oncology departments of Trillium Health Partners, specifically Dr. Gapski, Dr. Halrild and Dr. Digges, along with the compassionate care and support provided by the palliative care unit of the Credit Valley Hospital. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael’s memory may be made to the Heart House Capital Campaign, 1-855 Matheson Blvd. E., Mississauga, ON L4W 4L6.
