Doreen Ann Meadows
May 23, 1938 ~ June 7, 2024
We are saddened to announce the passing of Doreen Ann Meadows on June 7, 2024 in her 87th year. She passed away peacefully after a short illness at Brierwood Nursing Home. Doreen was the daughter of the late Alex and Evelyn Creasy and step daughter of the late Vern Hughes. She was predeceased by her loving husband of over 40 years, George Frederick Meadows. She was also predeceased by her first husband Bill Butterworth. Sister of the late Donna Miller (Bob )and Diane Forde. Mother of Ann Wehrstein, Carol Taylor(Jim), Dawn Butterworth-Nunn(Chris), Dufferin Hinch (Crystal). Step mother of Paul Meadows (Debbie), Judi Grant (Cary) and David Meadows. Blessed with 14 grandchildren, she will always be remembered as the “Crazy Fun Grandma” to Darryl (Farrah), Lindsay (Jeff), Corey (Chris), Trevor (Beka), Carson, Dayna (Andrew), Celia (Carrington), Natalie (Mike), Owen, Ryan, Sarah (Paul), Claire (Holly), Cody, Jessica (Andrew) and her 9 great grandchildren Taylor, Cole, Aidan, Adam, Elleda, Miles, Nico, Harper, Charlie.
Doreen touched so many people with her crazy wit. She was an unconventional but an unforgettable lady and will be “Forever in Our Hearts.”
A Sincere thank you to the amazing care from Dr. Kaira and staff at Brierwood Nursing Home in Brantford. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life for both Doreen and George will take place at a later date. In memory of Doreen, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
