MCNAMARA, Paul Gregory

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Gregory McNamara on September 3, 2023 at the age of 62 following a sudden short illness.
Paul is survived by his wife Tammy, son Benjamin and stepson Nathan Francoeur (Bret), his siblings Michael (Christina); Ann Marie (Alan Humphrey); Maureen Hubert (Glen); Colleen Sayer (Chris); brother in law John Pataracchia (Diana); brother in law Rob Smith (Sandra).
Always remembered as a kind and caring uncle to his many nieces and nephews: Rachel, Angela (Fidel), Michael (Megan) and John; Jason; Danny and Christopher (Ali); Alex and Caleb,; Stephanie and Aaron; Jason(Cortney) and Alisha (Jeff) and his great nephews Sebastian, Thompson and Bowen.
Paul was predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Ann McNamara; in laws William and Joan Smith; his siblings Brian McNamara and Teresa Pataracchia.
Paul was a thoughtful and loving person always interested in the lives of people around him.  He was a devoted father, family man and enjoyed many longtime friends. He was Ben’s mentor and fishing partner.
He graced us with his sense of humour often showing us the lighter side of life.
He had a great love and respect for nature.  He found relaxation tending to his garden of flowers and tomatoes, listening to different genres of music and playing his guitar.
Over his work life Paul was an auto body technician by trade. His hobby and passion was tinkering with and restoring old cars.  His pride was a 1960’s model Plymouth Road Runner.  Paul appreciated the warm hearted support he received from his UHaul work family where he was known as Paulie.
Paul’s family will be forever grateful for the outstanding care, compassion and thoughtful staff and volunteers at the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice who afforded Paul the ability to pass with great dignity and respect.
Many thanks to his family physician Dr. Coull and staff; the Juravinski Hospital Cancer Centre team, Dr. Senthil and E4 staff and Tranquility Burial and Cremation Services for their heartfelt caring, expertise and support.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a casual drop in Celebration of Paul’s Life at Ye Olde Squire Restaurant, 550 Fennell Avenue East Hamilton, Ontario on Saturday September 30, 2023 from 1 p.m to 4p.m.
Donations to the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice Hamilton in Paul’s memory would be appreciated.
Paul will be sadly missed and remains forever in our hearts

Oh Paul, why you? You are way to young to leave us. There hasn’t been a moment since you left us that we haven’t thought of you. I guess God had a plan for you and he needed you more. You will be sadly missed by all of us. Till we meet again.
With love from, Michael, Christina, Rachel, Angela and Fidel, Michael, Megan, Thompson and Bowen, and John.
Love you with all our hearts. 🦋😘
