Mary “Judy” Changoo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mary “Judy” Changoo, in her 64th year at Brantford General Hospital. Judy passed away surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved most.
Born on Christmas Eve, Judy’s arrival brought a special light into the world during a season known for hope, love, and togetherness, qualities she carried with her throughout her life. Anyone who knew Judy understood that she had a gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Her warm smile, gentle spirit, and generous heart touched the lives of many.
Raised in Newfoundland, Judy carried her love for her home province wherever life took her. Nearly twenty years ago, she made Ontario her home, where she met her husband Hopeton. Their years together were filled with shared experiences and cherished memories that became part of Judy’s story.
Above all else, Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She was a proud and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose love knew no bounds. She cherished every opportunity to gather with her children and grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Judy also had a love for travel and adventure. She looked forward to returning home to Newfoundland, where family, friends, and cherished memories awaited her. She enjoyed visiting her son David and his family in Saskatchewan and treasured the many trips to Florida with her daughter Melissa and family. No matter where she travelled, Judy’s happiest moments were those spent surrounded by the people she loved.
A woman of deep faith, Judy was a dedicated member of her church community. Her faith provided strength, comfort, and purpose throughout her life. She found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others, and her church family held a special place in her heart.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her husband, Hopeton; son David (Amber); daughters Christina and Melissa (Travis); her beloved grandchildren Carter, Miley, Remington, Sailor, River, Harlow, Elijah, Michael, Ansley, Bridget, and Bryson; and her precious great-granddaughter Renleigh.
She is also lovingly remembered by her brothers Rick (Jean) and David (Kevina), along with a large circle of extended family, friends, and members of her church community.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Eric and Mary Willmott, her brother Steven, and her sister Diane.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Judy’s love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched. Her memory will remain a blessing, and her spirit will forever be carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Chiefswood Christian Fellowship in Ohsweken, Ontario, on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 10:30am.
