In Loving Memory of Mary Catherine Thomson
It is with deep sadness that we announced the passing of our mother Cathy at her home, on October 5,2026 , at the age of seventy seven.
Cathy was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to the late Vernard and Florence Adshade. The family moved to Preston in 1956, where she remained a lifelong resident. She was the loving wife of Wayne (predeceased 2005). Beloved mother of Carol and Sandi( Keith) and cherished grandmother of Alex.
She loved an adventure, a good laugh shared with friends and family and a great book.
Cathy leaves behind her sisters Verna (Ron) Grube, Elaine (Gerry)Berner, Anne (Ian) Riley, Sharon( and the late Bryan) King. She was predeceased by her sister Alice Murphy and her brother John Adshade.
Cremation has taken place. A mass will be held on Friday October 23,2026 at 10 am at St.Clements Church 745 Duke St in Preston. A private family interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery,

Oh Carol, Sandi and Alex, I am so sorry to hear of Cathy’s passing . She was a dear, kind and thoughtful friend.
We worked together at King & Eagle Variety Store for many years. We shared lots of good times and laughs
together. Rest In Peace and God Bless 💐
