Gordon, Marilyn

In the company of some amazing health care workers, Marilyn passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre on May 11, 2020 in her 97th year. Marilyn was a devoted wife of 58 years to Murray Gordon who passed in 2005.  Cherished mother of Edward, William (Luciana, deceased), Joseph (Kathy), Russell and Lisa (Ken). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Rebecca, Anne-Marie, Lauren (Nick), Johnathan and her great grandchild Ciana.  Marilyn is survived by her sister Nancy Quinn and sister-in-law Lois Patterson. Pre-deceased by her parents Edward and Emily Patterson, brothers Jack Patterson and George Moverley (Alma), sister Betty Stacey (Bill), sister Rene Clement (Ernie), brother-in-law Thomas Quinn and grandson Anthony Gordon. Marilyn will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and her friends Bibi and Oscar.  Marilyn was known for her many interests and hobbies including tennis, badminton, golf, swimming, line dancing, speed-walking, quilting, reupholstery, needlepoint, knitting, reading and gardening. Her favourite times were spent with her sisters and their laughter was infectious. Marilyn was beautiful and elegant, gracious and charitable. She lived her life with dignity, never judging others. She never knew how truly impressive she was.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

I never had the opportunity to meet Marilyn, however, she lived a full life and I hope she rests peacefully. She seems like a wonderful person and I hope the family does well through this grieving period. You must remember all the positive memories of her to keep her spirit within you.

    Love y’all.

Gordon Family – What a lovely tribute, and well deserved. Your mother/sister/grandmother/great grandmother has left a legacy of such a thoughtful, generous and loving family that bring a kind of goodness to the world that she was, I’m sure, profoundly proud of. Our very sincerest condolences and hugs that would have been yours had we been able to gather to celebrate her life. I’ll still remember her fondly as she posed in the wedding veil at Lisa’s bachelorette party with her school chums.
