Today, I say goodbye to my beloved grandmother, who was also my godmother.
Although my heart is heavy, I find comfort in knowing that your pain is over and that you are now resting peacefully with God.
Even though we spent much of our lives far apart, I always felt a special connection between us. Distance never weakened the love and bond we shared.
One memory I will treasure forever is what you told me on my wedding day. You shared that on the day of my baptism, when I was still a baby, you carried me before the Blessed Virgin Mary and humbly prayed that she would always watch over me and protect me. Looking back on my life, I truly believe those prayers have accompanied me every step of the way. For your faith, your blessings, and your unconditional love, I will always be grateful.
I will also never forget the day you took me to La Messe Charismatique. We arrived during the day and left at night. As a child, I honestly thought we were going to sleep in the church! Today, that memory still brings a smile to my face.
Thank you for your love, your prayers, and the beautiful memories you gave me.
I will always remember you, Grandma. I will miss you dearly.
Wherever you are, I am sending you all my love, my gratitude, and my prayers until we meet again.
May you rest in eternal peace. ❤️🙏

My grandma and I had one thing in common: our love for God. That is something I will forever be grateful for.
Grandma, you were the one who taught me how to pray and trust in God. When we were young, every Monday you would take my mum, my aunty, my sister, and me to the Holy Spirit Church in Bel Air for the Charismatic Renewal. We always looked forward to Mondays because, for us, it was the best day of the week. Those moments strengthened my faith and gave me a relationship with God that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for planting that seed in my heart.
Some of my happiest memories are the weekends we spent at yours and Grandpa’s house. We would play dominoes and cards, laugh together, and simply enjoy being a family. Those are moments I will always treasure. And I don’t think I will ever drink a cup of tea as good as the one Grandpa used to make for everyone. Those simple times became some of the most precious memories of my childhood.
I am so grateful that I had the chance to say goodbye to you last Saturday. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, seeing you lying there with your eyes closed, waiting for your final moments. I spoke to you, and you responded to the sound of my voice. I know you knew it was me, Grandma, and that moment will stay with me forever.
Thank you for everything. Thank you for your prayers, your faith, and for leading our family closer to God. Your legacy lives not only in the memories we shared, but also in the faith you passed on to us. I find comfort in knowing that you are now at peace in the loving presence of the Lord you trusted and served throughout your life.
Rest in peace, Grandma. You will always be remembered with love, gratitude, and respect. Until we meet again, may God hold you in His eternal embrace.
With Gratitude,
Kikou

We were all Grandma’s favorites. She loved every single one of us equally, through our good and bad moments. She never judged us. Instead, she always tried to make us laugh and encouraged us to do better.
Grandma had this special way of knowing when something was wrong. I’d try my best not to show it, but somehow she always knew. She would always find a way to make me feel better. I’d say that was one of her superpowers, and it’s something I’ll miss forever.
Growing up, I think we can all agree we had so many funny moments with Grandma. Whether we were misbehaving or just talking with her, she always found a way to make us laugh.
One thing I’ll never forget was when Grandma lived with us while my brothers and I were younger. Every single night, she made sure we said our prayers before going to sleep. She made sure we got them right too, or we weren’t sleeping. She knew that God is what guides us through life. Even though I’d fall asleep sometimes, I’m forever grateful she taught us that, because God never gives up on us. To this day, I still say my prayers before I go to sleep and before I do anything important in my life.
She also taught me to be grateful for the little things in life because she grew up with very little and still became someone who could smile through anything, no matter what life threw at her.
One of the biggest lessons Grandma ever taught me was that family always comes first. She always said that no matter how mad your parents get, they’ll never stop loving you or want anything but the best for you. Whenever there’s a problem, go to your family, because they’ll always be there for you.
Grandma, thank you for every lesson, every laugh, every prayer, every hug, and every memory. Thank you for loving all of us unconditionally and for making our family stronger. Even though you’re no longer with us physically, your love, your kindness, and your lessons will stay with us forever.
We love you, Grandma. May you rest in peace.
