Luton, Verna Mae (nee Brown)

The Luton family is saddened by the passing of Verna Mae Luton, (nee Brown, 1928-2020), on
November 3 rd , in her 93 rd year; surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by husband (Owen)
George Luton, and sons, Greg, Roger and Gary, and sisters Edith Laird and Edna McHutchion
Born in Mount Forest, Verna grew up in Paris, Ontario, and spent most of her adult life in Brantford.
Verna was someone who always wanted to do good and who saw the best in other people. She raised
her own family, fostered other children and ran a home-based day care for many years, resulting in life-
long friendships with those children and their parents.
The family gives thanks to our extended relatives in Canada, the USA and Britain, many who have
provided daily contact and comfort over many years. Grandchildren Phil and Dan, and Katie and Emma
Luton and their families will also remember her. We would like to express particular thanks to numerous
caregivers and the medical support team, all who worked hard to make her last days as comfortable as
possible.
Later, a private family burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford. In lieu of flowers,
please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
