Lorie Marie (Ecker) Hyma
July 30, 1959 – April 24, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorie (Ecker) Hyma, who left us peacefully on April 24th at the age of 66, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lorie grew up in Dunnville, Ontario, and later moved to Hamilton to chase her goals and create the lifestyle she dreamed of. Throughout her life, she was known for her determination, forward thinking, being an early adopter of technology, and most of all her passion for helping families succeed. By sharing the opportunity and inspiring others, Lorie and her business partner, Anna Jalowica, built a strong team and achieved remarkable success together.
Lorie was a devoted partner, supportive mother, fun-loving grandmother, compassionate sister and aunt, empowering mentor, and true friend. Her days were made brighter by her loyal companion Diamond, whom she adored. Lorie will be remembered for her love and appreciation of good food and spirits, her willingness to experience new things, for planning memorable vacations and backyard gatherings, her casual and playful demeanor, and living life as her genuine authentic self.
Lorie will be deeply missed and remembered by her partner Anna; her sons, Jason (Terena), Justin (Jen); bonus kids, Dave (Nicole), Catherine (Darcy), Amanda (Matthew); her grandchildren, Adeline, Charlotte, Benjamin, William, Edward, Carina, Isabella; her brother Kevin (Shelley), sister-in-law Karen; her nephew, Grayden; by Team Gold, and her many amazing friends and extended family members. Lorie was predeceased by her parents Bob & Jan Ecker, her son Jeff, and her niece Lauren – may they rest in eternal peace together.
As per her wishes, private cremation has taken place. In place of visitation, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 16th, 2026 from 1-4pm at The Atrium Banquet Centre – 5420 North Service Rd, Burlington. Light lunch fare will be served, and the family looks forward to sharing happy memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to local animal charities (ex. Animal Adoptions of Flamborough) in her memory.
