Linda Jane Thomson (née Wallace), age 72, of St. Catharines, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026, at her home. She will be dearly missed by her husband, George; and her children, Gary (Candace), Heather, and Andrew (Julie); grandchildren, Allison, Jamie, Melanie, Josh, and Hailie. She will be remembered by Riley, and Grace. Jane also leaves behind her brother David (Jean), and her sister Sandra, who held a special place in her heart, as well as a vast Scottish family on both sides of the Atlantic. Jane is predeceased by her parents Alec and Eileen Wallace.
Born on November 30, 1953, in Barrhead, Glasgow Scotland to Alec and Eileen Wallace. Jane grew up in Glasgow and immigrated to Canada at the age of 21, with George and their son Gary in 1975 to build a future in St. Catharines.
Jane worked at Linhaven as a dietary aide and spent her retirement years being her grandchildren’s biggest supporter. She could be found at local arenas, fields, and gymnasiums cheering them on. Whether it be hockey, gymnastics, soccer, lacrosse, or basketball, Jane was always there. She was a warm, kind, funny, caring soul, and everyone who met her instantly loved her.
Keeping with Jane’s wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Tranquility Burial & Cremation Services (Niagara) Inc. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Grantham Lions Club, 732 Niagara Street, St. Catharines, on Sunday, November 15, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, with a tribute beginning at 2:30 PM.
