Matthew John Taylor Kavanagh

It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Matthew Kavanagh (age 79). Peacefully with
his family by his side, at Stedman Hospice in Brantford.
Matthew was born in Scotland. He came to Canada in 1949 with his family, where they settled in
Brantford, ON.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Kavanagh (of 44 years), his parents Margaret and Peter
Kavanagh, his brother Peter Kavanagh and his sister Isobel Treverton.

Survived and cherished by his children Scott Kavanagh, Charlene (Mark) Palinkas, step children Sonja
(Tim) Kavanagh, Jim (Charlene) Kuches, Deb (Don) Schroeder. Blessed Papa to Shane (Leanna) Kavanagh,
Sausha Kavanagh, Christopher (Jocelyn) Frystak, Philip (Sam) Kuches. Great-Papa to Stella, Myra,
Ephraim, and Baby Kuches.
Loving brother to Patrick (Doreen) Kavanagh, Mary (Russ) Garrison, Maggie (Leo) Smith. The ‘Cool Cat’
Uncle will also be sadly missed by nieces and nephews Sharon, Rick, Tim, Rob, Christine, Bo, Michael,
Peter, Lynda, Tommy, and Leo.

Forever remembered by his many friends, past and present.
Brenda Mead Deschamps, our family would like to express how much you meant to Matt. You always lit
up the room with your humour. We thank you for your compassion, love, support, and for always being
there for both he and Mary.
To Sharron and Mary, thank you for your friendship, you brought light into his heart.
Our upmost appreciation goes to the staff at Stedman Hospice. Thank you for giving our Dad peace and
kindness, humour and love. You are all amazing to your patients and to their families.

A Celebration of Life, for Matt and his late wife, will be held in the spring of 2023. Details will be
provided at a later date.
Donations, in memory of Matt, can be made to SPCA or Stedman Hospice.

    Matt came into our lives for a reason. He kept our room jumping. Sharon and i truly loved him. You added spice to our lives and lots of love to our hearts He was an amazing man and friend see you in our future. Missing you.
