November 28, 2025 | ASTIER CHELLE

I met Mr. John back in 2021 and have been his carer ever since. He was like a father to me and I felt like I was caring for my father. He used to talk to me like his daughter and I have never felt a stranger. I have always been touched by how he cared and valued his family. He never gets tired of speaking about his family especially his mom. He mentioned to me that he came from a respectable family, he told me that he was brought up by a loving family, he loved his father and mother, he has always been obedient. His love and care was unconditional. As I leave tbe house he would say “Astier (his accent when calling me put a smile on my face) be very careful not to get hurt.” And when I come back he greets me with happy face.
Mr. John sometimes felt he wants to go to God and I used to tell him that God will call him on his time but if he wants to talk to him he should do so and God will always hear him. During his last days he used to say “Lord I am ready take me. Lord please forgive me” 😭😭😭😭. And the lord indeed heard his prayers. A priest came over he did his confession and recieved the holy eucharist. Glory to God. He was happy and said ” I am ready God”😭😭😭😭
I will surely miss him and will never forget the fatherly love he gave me. I did the best I can to care for him and I am forever grateful to have been his carer. He will always have be in my heart. May his soul rest in the Lord’s eternal peace.
