My heartfelt sympathies to Ivy’s family. She was a close friend of my mother Imaculate. They served our Parish in Orlem by helping to prepare hosts. We can never forget her youthful friendship and involvement in our lives. Thank you Ivy and may God grant you the rest you truly deserve.

Dearest Mum Ivy,
I knew you from the time we were among the first families to move into Sandeep Ushma Nagar, Malad. You knew my family well. Mum was a very loving person and would always call to check on me, especially after her son, Valentine, passed away.
Spending these last days with her was truly a blessing. Thank you, God 🙏, for giving me that precious day with her. I played some of her favourite songs, and the time we shared together will always remain in my heart..
Rest in peace
Colleen & Merwyn

Tribute to my dear Aunt Ivy
The door bell ringing at 7 am in the morning on a birthday was not the milk man nor the news paper vendor but my dear Aunt Ivy who would travel all the way from Malad to greet us. She travelled the distance early in the morning to beat the office rush on the suburban trains of Bombay. She was thoughtful enough to bring along a bar of cake from 20th Century confectionary, Malad so as not to embarrass us for not having cake for such an important occasion. Beside milestones like birthdays or dad and mums wedding anniversary, she would unexpectedly visit us to inquire about our well being based on a dream that she had the previous night. As kids we would find that extremely strange!
She was a very affectionate person with extraordinary culinary skills. She belonged to a generation that had the ability to cook great food in large quantities within the confines of her home. Her pork pot roast, fish mole and sorpotel was something we longed for.
As a person she was very caring and as part of the Charismatic prayer group she would lift us up in prayer. She quoted the bible and very often gave us an extempore sermon. When she migrated to Canada she would send us novenas and prayer cards with little notes thanking Jesus for all that she had received and then asking him to pour his precious blood on her to heal her. Wow! she was a true witness and would freely bear testimony.
The quality I recollect about her is that she was fiercely independent and did not want to be a burden to any one. She was extremely grateful for any help received and felt obliged and very thankful for any small gesture. She always returned a favour several times over and was very vocal about it. She would speak her mind and then later always ask us if her statements were inappropriate and if she had offended us. She had a special bond with her brother John (my dad) always looking out for him. She knew mum was always in prayer and would freely share her prayer meeting experiences with her.
In Canada she would initially send birthday greeting cards for each of our birthdays, later when cards disappeared off the shelf, she would make the long distance calls warning us that it would be of three minutes or six minutes duration. Mobile phones came of age and then she would make voice and video calls inquiring about each and every member of the family including mums sisters and their families. Towards the end of the conversation she would always inquire about the ancestral house in Assolna, Goa.
Now that she has moved on to a better place she will be happy with her siblings John and Uncle Willy. She is now united with her son Valentine. I am sure she will lovingly preach to each of them!
Dearest Aunt Ivy, you will always be in our hearts. Farewell till we meet again.
Our deepest sympathy to Audrey, Colleen & Ossie, Emily & Darryl, Mario & Domenica & Colleen
Yours in sorrow,
Mum Aurita, Rochelle, Rommulus and your nephew Ainsley

Dear Colleen,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your beloved mother, Ivy.
Although we never had the opportunity to know each other personally, I grew up hearing of the friendship shared by my mother, Anita, your mother, Auntie Ivy, and yourself. Reading Auntie Ivy’s obituary reminded me of the special connection that existed between our families through my parents, Anita and Edward.
Your mother’s life was clearly one of faith, devotion, humility, and love. To reach the age of 94, surrounded by family and loved ones, is a blessing and a testament to a life well lived. The beautiful words in her obituary speak of a woman whose gentle spirit touched many hearts and whose memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
As Catholics, we grieve the loss of those we love, but we do not grieve without hope. We trust in Christ’s promise of eternal life and take comfort in knowing that death is not the end, but a passage into God’s eternal kingdom. I like to think that Auntie Ivy has now been joyfully reunited with Anthony, Valentine, my parents Anita and Edward, and the many family members and friends who went before her, all resting in the peace and presence of our Lord.
May God grant Auntie Ivy eternal rest and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the Blessed Virgin Mary wrap her mantle of comfort around you and your family, and may the love, prayers, and cherished memories of your mother sustain you in the days ahead.
Please know that you, and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy and God’s blessings,
Ed Franklin
“Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.”

Your mum was a very special lady. Kind, simple and loving. She always remembered my birthday and would call me first thing in the morning. I knew I would get a call from her. She would say, “I hope I didn’t wake you up. Happy Birthday dear. May God bless you always.”
She is definitely up there now, a guardian angel watching over all of you. May her soul rest in peace in Our lords home
You are all in our prayers. You took such good care of her. . She passed peacefully, without too much suffering. God knew she had done everything she could for her family and for everyone who knew her. She had a truly pure and loving heart.
May God give you strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

Ivy, was very caring and fearless. She was proud of her roots. My dad’s neighbor in Assolna. She would say how handsome my dad and his 2nd brother were, brown eyes n sang well! Choir friends maybe. Seemed like she had a crush, joking!
Ivy, was witty, prayerful n stood strong for her family, when she lost her son Val. She was a pillar of strength to us young widows.
Ivy has completed her earthly journey and is now enjoying the fruits of her Labour with her Heavenly Father , family n friends that transitioned before.
Ivy is not physically with us, but is watching over from above.
My condolences and prayers to the family. I will join you’ll virtually for the last rites today.
