David William Turner
July 4th, 1959 – March 1st, 2026
Dave, as he was called by most who knew him, passed away at the age of 66 at Sakura House Hospice in Woodstock, Ontario, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Beloved father to Catherine Rush (Dave Rush) and Jacklyn Fischer. Brother to Jennifer Turner-Walsh (Mike Walsh), and John Turner (Heather Turner). Grandad to Tyler Rush, Kennedy Rush, Kiera Fischer-Reese, Emelia Fischer-Reese, and Oliver Fisher. Uncle to Michelle Sturtevant (David Sturtevant), Christine Frederick (Kyle Frederick), Jessica Turner, Chris Turner, and John Turner (Shelley Turner). Predeceased by loving parents, Marion and Jack Turner.
Born in and raised in Cambridge, Ontario, Dave never stayed in one place for long. He lived in cities all across the country, usually with a furry friend or two, including Calgary, Kitchener, Serpent River, Massey, and others.
Dave had a heart of gold that left an imprint on everyone he met. He left behind precious memories of his adventurous spirit, his love for animals, and his generous heart. Despite his hardships, Dave’s daring antics, warm smile, and playful sense of humour will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He had the rare ability to make absolutely anyone feel known and special. He will always be remembered as the type of guy who’d readily give you the shirt off his back.
Dave will be deeply missed.
A special thank you to the caring staff at Sakura House in Woodstock for helping to ensure that Dave’s final days were spent in comfort and peace.
